Calendar for 2010-2011

Awana

Clubs

The AWANA Clubs of Black Oak Heights ministers to the children of our community as well as the children of our church family.  Our goal is to reach girls and boys with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to train them to serve Jesus in their lives now and as they grow up. We firmly believe that as we teach the children the Word of God it will be hidden in their hearts and pulled out by the Holy Spirit in their time of need.  God's Word does not return void and with the seeds planted, harvest will follow.

I'd like to share how we do this:  AWANA's work on the reward system.  As the children learn and excel in their performance, they receive rewards.  Each child progresses at their own level just as a babe in Christ progresses, one step at a time.  Children are rewarded for the level of progress they are in, not at what level another child is.  Their learning experience takes in all of our AWANA Club time and is broken down in many areas: i.e. the flag ceremony, prayer, contests, theme nights, handbook study time, Bible story and council time, songs, Bible quiz games, Christian sportsmanship during game time and snack time.

Our clubs meets on Sunday evening, 5:00 p.m.
